Peetu Piiroinen won the TTR World Title last year but he didn't look back once this year got under way. The TTR World Title is based on a rider's 6 best finishes. Peetu took home the first of his 6 early this year at the Air & Style Big Air Event in Innsbruck, Austria where he won second place. He then managed two 3rd place finishes in halfpipe and slopestyle at the O'Niell Evolution contest in Davos, Switzerland. Being in fourth place at this point in the season, he knew he would have to kick it into gear if he wanted to win another title. He did just that when he won 1st place in both slopestyle and halfpipe at the European Open. His Burton Boots were holding up well. With those wins he moved into 1st place on the season. After a quick detour from the circuit to take 2nd place, at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, he returned to take 1st place in the Arctic Challenge in Norway. This win came against a field of very experienced and skilled competitors and his Burton Bindings were a great asset. The Arctic Challenge win not only won Peetu the TTR World Title but with that he became the first-ever back-to-back title winner.
