Bobby malus

Salut tout le monde !

Définition wikipedia

Tuning , cars (3) by calafellvalo

A+

Buena Vista Games, the interactive branch of Disney that develops games branded with Disney’s numerous licenses, revealed today that they will be opening a new studio that will create games solely for Nintendo platforms. Based in Salt Lake City, the unnamed studio’s goal is to take advantage of the numerous creative opportunities offered by Nintendo’s current hardware, the Nintendo DS and the upcoming Wii. General Manager and VP Graham Hopper had some particularly enthusiastic words for the studio saying, “This studio will be one of our centers of creative excellence. It gives us the ability to fully capitalize on our properties and expand our market share on Nintendo platforms.” Here’s hoping they manage to make software that’s a step up from the truckloads of crap GBA titles they’ve consistently put out for the past five years.

Numerous media outlets, from blogs to trade magazines, were reporting that Nintendo would be shipping approximately 1 million Wii units for the North American launch on November 19th. These reports were based on Nintendo Canada’s vice president Robert Bertram’s conversation with Mackenzie Financial. Nintendo responded to the news with the following statement: “A number of outlets have reported a misstatement about the number of Wii consoles that will be available in the Americas during the launch rollout. In fact, the truth is even better. After the Americas lead the worldwide launch on Nov. 19, Nintendo expects to sell 4 million Wii consoles globally by the end of 2006, with the largest allotment available in the Americas. Although we expect a huge demand for the consoles, we are working to ensure a plentiful supply and a consistent flow.”

For now, the exact number of Wii units available at launch will remain a mystery but it’s certainly promising to here that Nintendo is planning on keeping a steady stock of the machine on retail shelves throughout this fiscal year.

There have been many Nintendo games made for the original Nintendo Entertainment System also known as NES or as I like to call it Old School Nintendo. In fact I don't even know how many there are. I have collected quite a few myself, and over the years I have come across some pretty crazy games. These are five that I found in my closet just now that I remember as being pretty crazy. So if you're up for some fun, check them out when you get a chance.

Crazy Old School Nintendo Games: Bee 52

Now this is a weird game. As you may have guessed you play as a bee and you have to gather honey and stuff without being eaten by frogs, I think. I don't fully recollect but it's a little off beat of the usual game. I don't remember liking the game much but held on to it because it's an oddity. The game is also a Camerica game which were not licensed by Nintendo but still played on the NES system.

Crazy Old School Nintendo Games: The Three Stooges

Oh man, did I ever have some fun with this one. It plays out just like and episode of the TV show would have with Larry, Moe, and Curly. The three have to make enough money to save the orphanage. So they go get wild jobs and win contest and things. At one point I remember a pie fight that makes the whole game worth while.

Crazy Old School Nintendo Games: Captain Planet

I don't know if you remember Captain Planet and the Planeteers but I watched that cartoon a lot as a child so when I saw that there was a Nintendo game I just had to have it. The game play isn't the best, but it's worth it to play as a planeteer and help save the planet in the weirdest ways possible.

Crazy Old School Nintendo Games: Defenders of Dynotron City

This is a difficult game to play for me, but the characters and the story line make up for it. One character has a hammer for a head and smashes bad guys, another has a head that detaches shoots out after bad guys and returns, and another is attached to a saw blade unicycle. The game comes with a mini comic in the manual.

Crazy Old School Nintendo Games: Bad Dudes

I love to play this game because all you do is run around and beat up street punks. You get to use chains and iron pipes and stuff, it's pretty awesome. Just like the streets of my home town.

Boy oh boy I sure do miss the good old days when there was more than a plenty of time to be spent playing Old School Nintendo games. Well, anyway that's all that I have for now I hope that you have fun playing around with some of these.

At this time last year, there was plenty to go around for everybody.

Now if you want the Nintendo Wii system, you're going to have to deal with a major headache.

Nintendo announced in November that Wii production was not keeping up with customer demand. With that announcement, the Wii became a hot item. Whether this was intentional or not, suddenly Wii's can't be found and it seems like eveyone has one on their Christmas list. It's not just a local shortage here in the US, the UK and other countries around the world.

I arrived at my local GameStop in Summerville, SC this morning to do a little browsing. In a mere 20 minutes, fifteen customers arrived all wanting the Wii. The manager started passing out numbers. The store received nine. I wouldn't have wanted to have been the manager having to incure the wrath of the unlucky six that didn't get the system. To put this in the proper persepctive, the manager and the employee helping him must have fielded over a dozen calls. Judging by the conversation on their end, I could tell they to were in search of the ever-elusive Wii.

My niece had a Wii on her list. She was fortunate enough to have a family member that worked at Wal-Mart call her when they got their shipment. She raced over as soon as she got the call. This Wal-Mart received three units. Not enough for the average neighborhood, let alone the average town.

Want to try E-bay. Prepare to pay 150 dollars above retail. Or if you want one you have buy it as part of a 600 dollar bundle which will include games and other accessories.

There is one popular theory making the rounds that alleges Wii shortages are contrived, merely to fuel a buying frenzy.

An entry I found on the pro-consumer blog Consumerist.com (a site owned by Gawker Media) recounts a Best Buy employee who sells “the very last Wii” over and over. Calling it an act of “amazing sleaziness,” the post reads:

I was standing near the back of the store when one of their salespeople came strolling from a back door holding a Nintendo Wii over his head, and started walking the aisles announcing that it was their last unit. I followed, wondering both how quickly would it get snatched up and how quickly could I decide if I wanted to buy it. It took a few minutes for a couple to come rushing up to claim it, exclaiming how happy their kids were going to be. I went back to looking around the store. About 30 minutes later, I heard this announcement on the store's PA: “Attention Best Buy customers! Julie is now walking through the store with our last Nintendo Wii! If you're looking for a Nintendo Wii, please look for Julie!” And there was another salesperson doing the same thing as the first–walking the aisles of the store holding the Wii above her head.

Whether the shortages are real or not, be prepared for a struggle to get a Nintendo Wii.Sources: www.gametap.com

Cooking Mama by Majesco Entertainment is a cute, stylus-based cooking game for the Nintendo DS. With the accomplished chef “Mama” looking on, players practice their cooking skills by transforming raw ingredients into culinary masterpieces.

Although everyone can agree that the graphics are adorable and the title's novelty is tempting, is this game really worth buying? Is Cooking Mama an appetizing gaming accomplishment, or a culinary clunker?

GAMEPLAY: Mastering the Stylus

Cooking Mama is easy to understand, and even easier to pick up. Players select a dish they want to test their culinary mettle on from Cooking Mama's menu. To make a recipe sucessfully, players must win a series of timed mini-games in which they prepare ingredients, mix them together, and cook them up using the stylus as a universal chef's tool. Most mini-games are easy, but some, like peeling carrots, are much harder than they look.

The completed recipe is given a Bronze, Silver, or Gold rating depending on how well the player fared on the mini-games. Mama unlocks a new recipe to try after each one is complete, to a certain point.

THE GOOD: Graphics, Audio, and Pace

Cooking Mama brings a lot to the table. The graphics are colorful, cute, and bright. The top screen features a smiling, friendly Mama, who offers players advice and encouragement. At first, players will be tempted to fail mini-games just so they can witness Mama's hilariously disappointed expression, her fists clenched and her eyes literally en flambe.

The sound design earns a big thumbs up as well. Be sure to turn the volume up on your DS when frying, sauteeing, chopping, or boiling up your latest creation. The sizzling, percolating, and cutting sounds are expertly done and really add to the gaming experience.

The game itself is also extremely easy to pick up and can be initially addicting. Each recipe only takes a few minutes, so it's easy to play while on break at work or while waiting to be seated at a real-life restaurant. Cooking Mama also very successfully integrates the stylus as the main mode of control, and offers some replay value as it is easy to complete most recipes but difficult to get a gold rating on the first try.

THE BAD: Lack of Depth, Multi-Player Mode

Although the title has a lot going for it, there is still room for improvement. The main problem with Cooking Mama is that the game has very little depth. It doesn't include much real information about cooking aside from listing some of the ingredients necessary for each dish, and gameplay is restricted  to completing recipes.

Unfortunately, the game's multi-player mode is very disappointing. Players can't assist each other with recipes, and are only able to transfer the recipes that they have completed in the single-player game back and forth.

In the end, Cooking Mama is charming to begin with but won't be engrossing for long. Players might find themselves shelving the game after only three to four hours.

THE VERDICT: Is it Worth Buying?

Cooking Mama is great for casual gamers, or those looking to add a simple game they can play while killing time to their collection. The stylus-based controls are well implemented and the graphics are attractive, but the overly simplistic gameplay hurts this title in the end. Since the game is relatively cheap at $19.99, however, it should deliver enough bang for your buck.

DSi XL Versus iPad: The Battle of the Bigger Versions

The Nintendo DSi XL comes out on March 28; the Apple iPad on April 3. Both are essentially bigger versions of things that already exist, but how much of an improvement are they really?

We know that comparing the Apple iPad to the Nintendo DSi isn't exactly fair, but we aren't comparing the two devices to each other on a feature-by-feature basis. Instead, we're taking a look at the value that each holds as an upgrade to its respective ancestor. In other words, is bigger better, and which bigger is better?

Flip through the gallery below in order to get the full effect, or, if you'd prefer, click here to see the article as one long list of words and pictures.

I’m not going to suggest how you should go about your business and/or your money but I really think that a Nintendo DS2 is not a must have gadget anymore. And since we’re at it, I have the same opinion about the PSP. Sure I’m not a kid anymore but I still play the occasional game but I use a mobile phone instead. Could you guess which one?

If you said Apple iPhone then you wouldn’t be wrong. But I’ll tell you that not only iPhones, or iPod touches for that matter, are great at playing games. In fact Android, webOS and Windows Phone 7 are, or will be just as good platforms to offer us all the games we could think about playing while on the go.

Sure your kids will probably want a Nintendo DSx or PSP before they’ll ask for a phone. But that’s where the iPod touch and the upcoming Zune HD2 come in so it will be really interesting to see if it’s really worth making portable gaming consoles anymore.

So what’s the deal with the DS2 you say? Well the device isn’t even official. We have the picture above to show you but that doesn’t necessarily mean the product is real. The DS2 will apparently offer two even bigger panels compared to the DSi XL and they will have an even bigger resolution. In fact they seem to be able to almost merge given their bigger size for certain games in which one could use a bigger screen for a better gaming experience.

The DS2 will also pack an accelerometer which is quite a popular feature these days. Furthermore it’s being said that the Nintendo DS2 will feature a NVIDIA Tegra chipset and that it should be arriving later this year. Should we assume that E3 will bring us the official D2 announcement?

Either way you could always go for the iPhone 4G this summer or wait for the first Windows Phone 7 handsets to hit stores this fall before you ask Santa for a brand new Nintendo DS2 this holiday season. What do you say?

Beautiful white sand beaches - Destin, FL by Jeff Erbele

Students were sent home from Huntington Beach High School on Wednesday after police discovered what appeared to be an explosive device.

Police were called to the school about 9:30 a.m. to investigate a report that a student was in possession of fireworks, according to Huntington Beach Police Lt. Russell Reinhart.

The school was evacuated – and students later dismissed – after police found what looked like a bomb.

A bomb squad determined that it was a fake device.  Police arrested a student in connection with the incident and charged him with possession of a facsimile of a bomb.

The student was taken to Orange County Juvenile Hall.

It could not be immediately determined if Foulk had an attorney.

Foulk was appointed director of Napa State Hospital in 2007. Hospital officials declined to comment.

“We did not know anything about this until Long Beach police came to the hospital and arrested him this morning,” said Nancy Kincaid, spokeswoman for the California Department of Mental Health.

She noted the alleged incidents predated Foulk's arrival at Napa State Hospital.

“He was not in one-on-one contact with patients,” Kincaid said. “He had no clinical hospital privileges, so he wouldn't have been offering treatment.”

Dr. Stephen W. Mayberg, director of the state mental health department, said Foulk had been fired.

Napa State Hospital Administrator Dolly Matteucci is serving as acting executive director while the department searches for Foulk's replacement, Kincaid said.

At the time of Foulk's appointment to Napa State Hospital he was lauded for his lengthy career in mental health services in both the private and public sectors.

Prior to taking the position in Napa, Foulk worked for the state Department of Mental Health as the Chief of Program, Policy and Fiscal Support, the Long Beach Press-Telegram reported. Before that, he held positions as chief executive officer and chief operating officer of private community acute psychiatric hospitals, including CPC Horizon Hospital and Clinic in Pomona and CPC Alhambra Psychiatric Hospital in Rosemead, according to a Department of Mental Health news release.

Napa State Hospital is one of the largest state mental health facilities in the United States, with about 1,260 beds for patients. Many of the hospital's patients come from the criminal justice system – including those found not guilty by reason of insanity. No juveniles or child molesters are treated at Napa.
